Well kids, I think it’s about time to wrap up this list. X-mas is just around the corner I’m keen to get to blogging about things that aren’t material goods. Not that I don’t like material goods, heavens no. I’m what top scientists refer to as a “Consumer Whore”. If it’s out there, I want it. Especially if it’s Star Wars. So lets go out in style hey? I present to you a smorgasbord of X-mas delights!

First up is some dashing outerwear!

Harrison Ford is just too fucking cool. Han Solo, Indiana Jones AND Rick Deckard? It seems unfair that any one actor should be allowed to protray 3 Icons of awesome. Anyway, back on topic: Someone get me a fuckin’ Blade Runner Jacket!

Now I know what you’re thinking: “Geoff, what could possibly embody the spirit of the holidays more prefectly than a Fuckin’ Blade Runner Jacket?”. That’s a stupid question:

This would be a Statue of Peace from the Ralph Bakshi film “Wizards”. Not a terribly good film, but I love the design of peace. Not mention “They’ve killed Fritz! Those Lousy, Stinkin’, Yellow Faeries!“

Awesome. Wall-E would go great with my autonomous Artoo Detoo.

So I think I’m going to call it a list there kids. There are other fine geeky products to be sure but I think this will do honestly.

I’m a big fan of Etsy. It’s like an arts and crafts fair online. There’s a ton of great stuff there. A number of my favourite t-shirts are from Etsy. Today while I was browsing, I came across this and I knew I had to share.

I mean wow. Tell me that shouldn’t be my bathroom. You can’t can you, because that would make you a liar, and this close to xmas it does not pay to risk putting yourself on Santa’s naughty list.

I’m sorry I couldn’t come visit this Christmas. I didn’t know it would be our last. I’ll miss you.

I love the Predator. The Predator is bad ass. He looks cool. he can turn invisible. He’s an alien. He has awesome weapons. There is nothing about the Predator that I do not find intrinsically awesome. It’s such a shame that a paragon of awesome like the Predator should be saddled with 2 shitty movies and 1 decent but still not amazing movie. But here, here is the sequel to Predator that I’ve been waiting for all my life!

Most of you know my feelings about the Jedi uniform as presented in the prequels. Most of you know my feelings about the prequels in general. All of that said I am, above all other things, a Star Wars fan. I may Deride the prequels, their designs, the (il)logical choices they made, their lack of continuity and so on, but at the end of the day it’s still Star Wars. That being the case, I must cast my dislike for the prequels and their notions about the Jedi uniform aside and covet this:

Yes, I can imagine many a lazy Sunday snuggled up in my Jedi robe on the couch watching some Star Wars. Damn you Lucas, I’m such a consumer whore.

I’ll make no apologies about it: I want a “new” car. That is, I want a car that is not my current car. I want a car that is “me”. I want to drive a vehicle that I have chosen, that reflects my personality. Obviously that means either the Knight Rider car, the Delorean Time Machine, or the Ghostbusters car. In actual fact, I came very close to getting my hands on a vintage ambulance some months back, but alas it sold before I could make an offer.

But I’ve been thinking, do I really want an old car? They’re not the easiest things to maintain, certainly not the cheapest, and their fuel efficiency isn’t exactly stellar. I’m starting to think that what I really want is a new car I can retrofit into the same kind of design aesthetic as those cars I mentioned. To this end I’ve done some research, given it some thought, and come to a decision:

I want a Dodge Magnum.

Somewhat reminiscent of the Ecto in its design but still rather modern looking, at least I think so. To my mind this seems to afford me the best of all worlds. A custom dash and light bar in the grill and I’ve got Knight Rider covered. A lightbar up top, some trickery with the paint job to imply red fins and a no ghost logo on the door, and ecto is all wrapped up. And finally there’s no reason I can’t pop a flux capacitor in there for kicks

In all actual likelihood I’d never end up doing any of that. But daydreams are fun. Alas my current car endured about 6 months of eggings from an unknown assailant which has stripped much of the clearcoat off. It would cost $3600 to fix the paint, and I seriously doubt I could get more than $4500 for the car with pristine paint, which makes fixing it hardly worthwhile. A recent visit to a dealership to browse some cars revealed that the most I can hope to get on a trade in of my car in its current condition is about $1200. Rough.

So yeah, a special thanks to the asshole that egged my car, you cost me several thousand dollars.

I’ll leave you with some shots of a Magnum converted into an Ecto-mobile to raise our spirits (see what I did there?). Not how I’d do it, but Super Awesome none the less.

When Warner Bros. decides to make an “Ultimate” Harry Potter box set, they do not fuck around.

It even comes with 2 empty slots for the forthcoming movies. Yeah, You know I’m getting this.

Star Trek had an animated series. I have it on DVD. It’s pretty great and starred almost the entire original cast. It did have one interesting design issue though. All the men had huge muscles. I mean the whole crew was fucking ripped. Check it out:

Isn’t that mad? Wouldn’t that or other cells look great on my walls? The answer to that is yes.

In contrast to yesterday’s post, today is all about life size busts or larger. Sometimes bigger is better. Not always but sometimes. Here are some examples of instances when bigger is clearly better.

I’m not a fan of the prequels. But I still dig this design.

Yeah, I have it bad for Mini-busts. I don’t know what it is, I just think they’re great. For me they are often a perfect amalgamation of geekiness and classiness. It’s something I’m always on the look out for because I would very much like my place to reflect both of those things. Alas, it usually doesn’t work out that way

I’ve always loved 4-LOM, even when I was a kid and he was Zuckus because Kenner mislabeled the action figures. He just looks so bad ass. This one isn’t coming out until April it seems. My birthday is in April. I’ll just let that sink in for a minute.
