I said what I meant and I meant what I said, a Blofeld is evil 100%

Watched On Her Majesty’s Secret Service last night. Telly Savalas as Blofeld? No. George Lazenby as James Bond? No. Diana Rigg as a Bond Girl? Oh hells yes. It’s an exceptionally bad Bond film, which is a shame because it had so much potential story wise to have been one of the best. It certainly had a very powerful ending which was robbed of its impact by a buildup filled with hammy acting and poor scripting. It really comes off more like “Ian Fleming’s James Bond in Ian Fleming’s The Notebook“. It’s a shitty romance movie masquerading as a Bond flick.

To get the unpleasant taste of OHMSS out of our eyes, we moved directly to the next film in line Diamonds are Forever. A truly great but also truly outrageous Bond flick. It saw the return of Sean Connery as James bond for his second “last time”. Connery has the odd distinction of being the 1st, 3rd and 5th Bond. Kinda boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
